Resides in Ensenada, Mexico...Signed by Manuel Samaniego. 2006 Spent his first season in the St. Louis organization with Double-A Springfield, after being selected in the AAA phase of the 2005 Rule 5 Draft...Hit a career-high 10 home runs and had a career-best 46 RBI...Hit .314 (27-for-86) with runners in scoring position and .313 (15-for-48) with RISP and two outs. Batted just .196 (36-for-184) with the bases empty...Played in the Mexican Pacific Winter League for Obregon and hit .248 (37-for-149) with 10 HR and 22 RBI in 49 games. 2005 Played for Double-A Mississippi in the Atlanta organization for the majority of the season, with a ninegame recall to Triple-A Richmond from 5/20-6/7...Combined to bat .289 (61-for-211) in 57 total games between the two stops, with three home runs and 24 RBI...His season came to an end on 7/28 as he was placed on the DL with a strained left knee...Posted a .309 batting average (56-for-181) from May through July...Went 14-for-46 (.304) with runners in scoring position and 9-for-24 (.375) with runners in scoring position and two outs at Mississippi...For Richmond, batted .329 (25-for-76) in his final 20 games...Committed seven errors in 416 total chances behind the plate (.983 fielding percentage). 2004 Returned to the Tampa Bay organization after being returned from loan to Mexico City and played the full season with Double-A Montgomery...Was signed by the Braves as a minor league free agent in December 2004.
