SF's 3rd selection in 2004 First-Year Player Draft (4th round) was added to 40-man roster over winter...will make 4th consecutive trip to big league camp, having come to Spring Training as non-roster invitee 2005-07...24-year-old speedster has earned All-Star honors in 2 of his 1st 4 minor league campaigns, while batting .283 with 76 stolen bases...has hit at .295 clip (186-for-630) over 171 games in triple-A Pacific Coast League.

Graduated from LaBelle (FL) High School...3-year letterman in baseball was also 3-time team MVP...compiled .448 avg. with 75 stolen bases as prepster, while forging 2.39 ERA... was selected by Texas in 41st round of 2001 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign...recognized by Baseball America as honorable mention Defensive Player of Year in 2000...attended University of Central Florida, where he batted .360 with 76 thefts over 3 seasons...led Golden Knights in hits, 2Bs, 3Bs, HRs, total bases and steals en route to 1st Team All-Conference honors in 2004, while UCF advanced to NCAA Regionals...single. 2007 Enjoyed solid campaign during 1st full year at triple-A level, setting career highs with .301 batting avg. and .363 on-base mark over 109 games with Fresno...also matched career standard with 39 RBI...served as Grizzlies' primary leadoff hitter and center fielder, committing just 3 errors over 102 defensive contests. 2006 Struggled to open season at double-A Connecticut, but regained form after arriving at triple-A Fresno...batted just .222 in 66 Eastern League games, but upped mark to .286 in 62 contests with Grizzlies...combined for 19 2Bs, 5 3Bs, career-high 6 HRs and 32 RBI...also swiped 16 bases. 2005 Was elected to in-season California League All-Star squad at single-A San Jose, while pacing circuit with 12 3Bs and 34 stolen bases (5th in SF organization)...also ranked 4th in league with 160 hits, while batting .291 with 85 runs, 22 2Bs, 4 HRs and 39 fielder logged .990 fielding pct.
