He and his wife, Amanda, make their offseason home in Granite Bay, Calif...pitched for Oregon State University...played baseball and football at Del Oro (CA) High School where he was named the school's Male Athlete of the Year as a senior...pitched in the 2001 Cape Cod League for Bourne. 2006 Appeared in 21 games, including nine starts, for the Express...finished 2-3 with a 2.81 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 57.2 innings...started and finished the season in the bullpen but made eight consecutive starts between June 21-July 29...went 2-2 with a 2.67 ERA as a reliever and 0-1 with a 2.93 ERA as a starter...did not allow a run in his first four appearances, a span of 8.1 innings...allowed only two home runs through his first 35.0 innings...made two appearances in June without allowing a run...tossed a season-high 4.2 innings on Aug. 31 vs. Memphis, allowing one run on three hits while striking out a season-high seven.Star Game. 2005 Spent the season at Double-A Corpus Christi where he posted a 5-6 mark with a 2.81 ERA (23ER/73.2IP), striking out 65 and walking 34 over 15 starts...combined with teammates Jason Hirsh and Tim McClaskey to throw four scoreless frames in the 5-0 West win at the Texas League All-Star Game...threw one complete game, on May 16 vs. Midland...placed on the Disabled List on June 28 with left elbow tendinitis and did not make an appearance for the remainder of the season. 2004 Began the season as a reliever for Class-A Salem and made 37 appearances (14 starts)...closed the season with 14 starts...finished 7-7 with a 3.66 ERA (38ER/93.1IP)...allowed just two runs over his first four starts from June 10-22, a span of 19.2 innings...pitched a 5.0-inning complete game on Aug. 2 at Winston-Salem and fanned a season-high seven batters...tossed a season-long 6.0 innings in four games, going 3-1 in those starts: June 22 at Myrtle Beach; July 7 at Lynchburg; July 17 vs. Kinston; and July 28 vs. Wilmington...surrendered just 10 earned runs in 23 relief appearances (24.0 innings) before moving to the rotation. 2003 Ranked fourth at Class-A Lexington with 36 appearances...third on the team with 101 strikeouts. 2002 Split his first professional season between rookie league Martinsville and short-season Tri-City...posted a 1.80 ERA over four appearances at Martinsville.
