Attended Manuela Toro High School in Puerto Rico...has one son, Bryant, and resides in Caguas, Puerto Rico in the offseason...name is pronounced Nay-grone. 2006 Began the seaon at Double-A New Hampshire with Toronto...Was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Cubs on 5/19 and finished out his season with the Cubs' Double-A affiliate, West Tennessee...At New Hampshire was a .302 hitter (13-for-43) against lefthanders, but just .172 (15-for-87) against righties...After joining the Cubs, crushed the ball in June, batting .424 (28-for-66) in 23 games. Of the 15 games in which he had hits during June, 10 of those were multi-hit games...Won the batting title in the Puerto Rico Winter League for Caguas with a .381 average. 2005 Spent the entire season with New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA)... Batted .258 with 21 doubles, 12 home runs and 46 RBI in 124 games... TEAM LEADER: Led the team and set new career highs with 124 games played, 489 at bats, 69 runs scored and 23 stolen bases... Tied for the team lead with three triples... Finished 2nd on the team in RBI and hits (126)... Played 112 games in CF, 9 in LF and 3 in RF... Had 34 multi-hit games...
