Sean Davis Thompson...graduated from Thunder Ridge High School (CO)...committed to play baseball at Arizona State before signing with the Padres following the 2002 draft...was signed by scout Darryl Milne (Padres). 2007 Split the year between three different teams in three different Major League organizations...combined to go 9-8 with a 3.70 ERA (133.2 ip, 55 er) in 27 games/23 starts between Double-A San Antonio (SD), Triple-A Omaha (KC) and Double-A Tulsa (COL)...began the year in San Diego's organization and went 4-7, 3.57 (88.1 ip, 35 er) in 16 games/starts for the San Antonio of his 16 games were quality outings...allowed one earned run or less in eight starting assignments...held opposing batters to a .258 (84-for-325) average against...won three of his first four games after allowing just one earned run over 22.1 innings pitched (0.40 ERA) fact, gave up just two earned runs over his first five games and 28.1 innings (0.64 ERA), but allowed four earned runs in his sixth start of the year to raise his figure to 1.57...posted a 1.52 ERA (47.1 ip, 8 er) over his first eight starts, going 3-3 during that span...however went 1-4 with a 5.93 ERA (41.0 ip, 27 er) over his final eight outings with the Missions to rise from 1.52 to 3.57...was released by San Diego on June 29 and claimed on waivers by Kansas City on July 3...that day he was claimed, was transferred to Triple-A Omaha where he appeared in just three games for the Royals, tossing 1.0 scoreless inning of relief...was released by KC on July 16 and claimed on waivers by Colorado three days later...was optioned to Double-A Tulsa and posted a 5-1 record with a 4.06 ERA (44.1 ip, 20 er) in eight games/seven starts for the Drillers...allowed seven ER in his first outing on July 20 at Arkansas, but settled down and allowed just five earned runs over 26.2 innings pitched (1.69 ERA), covering his next five games/four starts...included in that stretch was his second career shutout on Aug. 18 vs. Midland...tossed 9.0 scoreless innings in that contest, allowing just seven hits and one walk...gave up eight earned runs over his final 13.1 innings to rise from 3.48 to 4.06...played for the Peoria Javelinas following the season and went 2-2 with a 4.43 ERA (20.1 ip, 10 er) in seven games/five starts. 2006 He spent the entire 2006 season with Double-A Mobile, making 27 starts.
