The Marlins made a couple of roster moves prior to Thursday afternoon's series finale against the Nationals. Right-hander Jose Urena was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans and lefty Chris Narveson was designated for assignment.

Named as the team MVP in both baseball and basketball...all Region in basketball...all State in baseball...played Little League, Junior and Senior League...enjoys fishing, hunting and golf...selected by Toronto in the first round (33rd pick) of the 2000 First-Year Player Draft.

2014

Began the season as a member of the rotation for Toronto and was the starting pitcher for the home-opener on April 4 vs. New York (AL)... went 2-2 with a 5.08 ERA (22 ER/39.0 IP) in eight starts and moved to the bullpen following his May 14 start...After joining the bullpen he went, 3-1 with a 3.35 ERA (16 ER/43.0 IP) in 45 games, while limiting opponents to a .215 average (34-for-158) and a .284 on-base percentage...Allowed only seven of 36 inherited runners to score (19.4 %)...Posted a 4-0 record with a 2.31 ERA (12 ER/46.2 IP) in 28 games (four starts) away from Rogers Centre, limiting opponents to a .173 batting average...went 1-3 with a 6.62 EA (26 ER/35.1 IP) in 25 home games (four starts)...His 53 relief appearances established career high, passing his previous high of 27 games in 2007...Earned his first career save on June 13 at Baltimore, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings and striking out three batters

On June 8 vs. TEX returned to the majors making his 1st appearance since September 26, 2011 at CWS. Did not allow an earned run on the road over the 13.0 innings pitched. Surrendered a home run in two of his first four games…Did not allow another over the following 21 contests (22.1 IP). Recorded 14 strikeouts over 10.1 IP from June 23-July 19, a span of nine games. 2012 On March 26 signed a two year contract extension with the Blue Jays...Spent the enitre 2012 season on the disabled list...
