Was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 1997 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign until June 1, 1998 (draft and follow)...played his college ball at Cowley County (Kan.) College, where he was a member of the 1997 and 1998 Junior College World Series champs...participated in the Little League and American Legion baseball programs. 2006 SUMMARY: Pitched in the Washington organization in 2006, going 2-6 with four saves and a 2.32 ERA in 51 appearances at Triple-A New Orleans and had no record and a 6.35 ERA in eight games with the Nationals...spent the first half of the season with New Orleans before a July 28 promotion to Washington...was designated for assignment on Aug. 22 and outrighted the following day to New Orleans, where he closed the season...after the regular season, pitched in three games for Aguilas of the Dominican Winter League.

WITH NEW ORLEANS: Posted a career-best 2.32 ERA (19 ER/73.2 IP) in 51 outings for the Zephyrs, limiting Pacific Coast League opponents to a .192 batting average...struck out 87 batters in 73.2 innings, an average of 10.6 strikeouts per nine innings...led all team relievers in ERA, strikeouts and innings pitched (minimum 30 appearances)...compiled a 0.92 ERA (4 ER/39.0 IP) over his final 26 Triple-A appearances beginning June 1...did not allow an earned run in 15.0 consecutive innings over nine outings from July 6-Aug. 25.

Texas: Purchased from Oklahoma on Sept. 24 and made his major league debut on Sept. 26 vs. Seattle, allowing one run in 0.2 inning...other outing came Oct. 1 at Seattle, also allowing one run in 0.2 inning...struck out 2 batters in each appearance...first batters were 0-1 with a walk and he did not inherit any baserunners...was the 52nd player to appear in a game for the Rangers in '04 and the club record 30th pitcher.
