Graduated from Seminole HS, where he lettered 4 years in baseball and also played football (3 yrs.) and basketball (1 yr.)...Earned all-state and all-conference honors and captained the baseball team his senior year...Played for American Legion World Series champion Sanford (FL) team in 1997...Also played in Sanford Little League program...Enjoys basketball and golf and watching television...Both Tim Sr. and Jr. attended the Orioles' press conference announcing the younger Raines' signing on 6/15/98; Tim Sr. was with the Yankees, who were playing the Orioles that night at Camden Yards...Was scouted and signed by Harry Shelton. 2004 Split the season between AAA Ottawa and the majors...Had 4 separate call-ups to the Orioles.
