12-year professional made ML debut in 2007 with Giants, performing admirably as backup catcher over final 4 months...has been with SF organization for 11 of his 12 seasons (1996-2003, 2005- 07), while spending 2004 campaign in Detroit system...initially signed by Giants as non-drafted free agent Nov. 17, 1995, was on club's 40-man roster following 1999 season and was non-roster invitee to Spring Training in 2003, 2006 and career .256 hitter over 762 minor league games.
