2004Wright would have been a heavy favorite to win Rookie of the Year had he spent the entire season with the parent club. Though he wasn't called up until July 31, Wright had an immediate impact, hitting .293 with 14 homers and 40 RBIs over the final 69 games. He collected his first career multi-homer game on Sept. 2 against Florida and collected a career-high four hits on two occasions. His 14 homers after the All-Star break were second most ever by a Mets rookie. Darryl Strawberry had 18 in 1983.
