Graduated from San Jose HS in Caguas, Puerto Rico...Played baseball, basketball, volleyball and soccer in high school...Luis and his wife, Miltza, have two daughters, Gabriela (9/18/94) and Monica, and two sons, Luis (9/5/97) and Fernando...Was originally signed by Padres scout Jose Garcia. 2005 Lopez began the season with Triple-A Louisville, batting .264 with a home run and nine RBIs over 29 games. He was promoted on May 20 and appeared in 17 games with the Reds, including four starts (two games at second base, two games at third).
