Resides in Quitman, La. with his wife, Vicki, and daughter, Olivia, born in March of 2002...graduated from Quitman (LA) High School in 1987...attended a Phillies tryout camp in 1987, threw to three batters and was drafted by Philadelphia two weeks later...scouted by Don Williams (Phillies)...played baseball, basketball and ran track in high school and was an All-State and All-District selection in both baseball and basketball...enjoys hunting, fishing and playing golf...patterned his pitching style after seeing Pittsburgh's Kent Tekulve pitch in the 1979 World Series. 2004
