Jordan Comadena #89

Jordan Comadena is in his third full season with the Pirates as the club's Bullpen Catcher. He also worked in the same capacity during the final month of the 2016 campaign, attending home games at PNC Park. In his role, Comadena assists the coaching staff during batting practice in addition to catching bullpen sessions before and during the games. He also works directly with Pitching Coach Ray Searage and Bullpen Coach Euky Rojas. Signed as a minor league free agent by the Astros on 1/22/09, Jordan played three seasons (2009-2011) in the Houston organization and compiled a .221 average, two home runs and 28 RBI in 111 career games. Prior to joining the Pirates, Comadena served as a coach at Purdue University in 2016. He also worked as a coach at Parkland Junior College in Champaign, IL, in 2013 and with the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League in the summer of 2012. A native of Normal, IL, Jordan currently resides in Lafayette, IN. He attended Normal (IL) Community West High School and received a Movement and Sports Science Degree in 2008 from Purdue University, where he played baseball for four years. During his collegiate career, Comadena played three summers (2005-2007) for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League. The Mallards retired his uniform #14 in 2008.
