Bochy: Lincecum should be 'good to go'

SAN FRANCISCO -- Two days after Tim Lincecum left Game 2 of the World Series at Kauffman Stadium because of tightness in his back, Giants manager Bruce Bochy continued to be upbeat about the extent of the injury before Game 3 tonight.

Lincecum sustained the injury during his first outing of the postseason.

As the Giants worked out at AT&T Park in preparation for Game 3 against the Royals, Lincecum traveled offsite and underwent an MRI to evaluate the nature of the damage.

With the best-of-seven Fall Classic tied at one game apiece, Bochy told reporters that the result of the MRI "was fine, nice and clean," and that Lincecum should be "good to go."

Lincecum will throw on flat ground before Game 3 just to be certain, Bochy said.
