The Arizona Fall League typically benefits from plenty of sunny weather in the desert, making rainouts uncommon. But occasionally rain does interrupt the AFL, as was the case Wednesday.
Rain forced Wednesday's meeting between Mesa and Glendale to be postponed at Cubs Park, marking the first time a Fall League game has been rained out since Nov. 7-8, 2011, when the Peoria-Mesa and Surprise-Phoenix games were washed out on consecutive days.
Wednesday's game will not be rescheduled.
Mesa continues its season Thursday night with a home game against Salt River at 9:35 p.m. ET, while Glendale will return home to host Surprise, also at 9:35 p.m. ET.
