Gausman to be part of full complement of relievers

Right-hander expected to be used in short situation if needed

Gausman to be part of full complement of relievers

BALTIMORE -- After a late ending to Thursday's Game 1, Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he expected all of his relievers to be available for Friday's noon start, joking that they were probably still warm given the quick turnaround.

And with Saturday's off-day, Showalter expects to have a full bullpen again, including right-hander Kevin Gausman, for Sunday's potential clinching Game 3 against the Tigers. Gausman threw 3 2/3 innings on Friday -- needing 55 pitches -- and while Showalter is never one to tip his hand, it's safe to say the righty wouldn't be used in a long situation during Game 3.

Gausman could, however, come in for one or two batters depending on the situation. The Tigers' lineup is very right-handed and Gausman was dominant for most of his outing, striking out five and walking one. A starter all season, Gausman spent a good chunk of last seasonin the bullpen, making the postseason transition an easier one.
