WASHINGTON -- Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval extended his postseason hitting streak to 12 games with a fourth-inning single during San Francisco's 3-2 win over the Nationals in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Friday.

That's the longest active postseason hitting streak in the Major Leagues, and it's also a franchise record.

The streak began in Game 2 of the 2012 NL Championship Series. Since then, Sandoval is 20-for-50 (.400) with five homers, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored.
