Mets medical update

FLUSHING, N.Y., October 2, 2014 - Righthanded pitcher Jenrry Mejia underwent successful sports hernia surgery earlier today in Philadelphia. Rehabilitation is expected to take three weeks.

Catcher Travis d'Arnaud had a bone chip successfully removed from his right elbow Tuesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. He was released Wednesday and will undergo six-to-eight weeks of rehabilitation.

Both players are expected to be ready for the beginning of Spring Training.
