From Korea to LA, Ryu hasn't missed a beat

Hyun-Jin Ryu, LHP, Dodgers
Hometown: Incheon, South Korea

Ryu draws a horde of Korean media and fans wherever he travels. He pitched with the Korean Baseball Organization for seven seasons, posting a 2.80 ERA and going 98-52 in 1,269 innings. He began playing with the KBO in 2006, when he was 19 years old and drafted by the Hanwha Eagles.

Though Ryu now plays in America, he continues to give back to his home through his HJ99 Foundation, which helps underprivileged youths play baseball. Ryu has participated in charity golf tournaments, and he has even released a couple of pop singles in support of that foundation.

He signed with the Dodgers in December 2012 for a six-year deal after the Eagles posted him.
