Moss Has Ties To Country Music Royalty

Brandon Moss, 1B/OF, Athletics
Hometown: Loganville, Ga.

Born in Monroe, Ga., Brandon Moss went to high school in Loganville and resides there today. Before he was an MLB All-Star, he held odd jobs in Loganville during the winters.

Moss played football and baseball at Loganville High, and in 2001 he played for Team Georgia in the Sun Belt Classic in Oklahoma.

Also representing Georgia on that team were big leaguers Jeff Francoeur, Brian McCann and Matt Capps. In other words, Moss was among elite company at a young age.

Moss' Georgia roots go beyond the diamond: He is also a cousin of country singer Alan Jackson, who hails from Newnan, Geo.
