Rangers win challenge, halt Astros' first-inning rally

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers cut short the Astros' budding first-inning rally by winning a replay challenge.

The Astros had Robbie Grossman at second and Jose Altuve at first with one out and Chris Carter at the plate against Rangers starter Lisalverto Bonilla. With the count 0-1, Bonilla bounced a pitch in the dirt that was blocked by catcher Robinson Chirinos.

Grossman tried to go to third and was called safe by umpire Ted Barrett. Rangers manager Tim Bogar challenged the call and it was overturned. Altuve advanced to second but Bonilla struck out Carter to end the inning.
