Nats adjust starting rotation after rainout

WASHINGTON -- Nationals manager Matt Williams has decided that right-hander Stephen Strasburg will pitch Saturday against the Marlins, while Jordan Zimmermann, who is dealing with shoulder issues, will pitch the final game of the regular season against Miami. Both pitchers were pushed back a day.

Right-hander Tanner Roark most likely will pitch out of the bullpen the rest of the way. The Nationals then play the first game of the National League Division Series starting Oct. 3.

It likely means that Strasburg will pitch Game 1 of the NLDS, followed by Zimmermann, who will pitch in Game 2. Right-hander Doug Fister will likely pitch Game 3, followed by left-hander Gio Gonzalez for Game 4, if necessary.

The Nationals have not officially announced their rotation for the NLDS.
