Call upheld in Red Sox-Orioles finale

BALTIMORE -- After Caleb Joseph hit a grounder in the seventh inning, the Red Sox thought the inning should have been over. Ryan Flaherty was called out at second, but Joseph was ruled safe at first. After a review of 3 minutes, 35 seconds for John Farrell's challenge, the call was upheld.

The Red Sox escaped the inning when Jonathan Schoop grounded out one batter later to preserve Boston's 3-2 lead heading to the eighth inning.

Farrell is now 18-for-34 on challenges this season.
