Turner's run would have cut it to a two-run deficit but Stubbs and shortstop Josh Rutledge teamed up for a perfectly timed relay and Turner was ruled out at home on McKenry's tag.
Turner was shaken up on the play as his right shin collided with McKenry's shinguard during his slide. After manager Don Mattingly came out to check if Turner was OK, he had a brief discussion with plate umpire D.J. Reyburn. Reyburn then relayed his concerns to O'Nora, who promptly decided to take another look with a crew chief review.
After a one-minute, 23-second review, the call was confirmed. McKenry was ruled to have fully received the ball by the time he got into position for the tag, and the first out of the inning remained on the board.
Rockies left-hander Tyler Matzek was eventually replaced with right-hander Tommy Kahnle after he walked A.J. Ellis, but the Dodgers' luck in the inning didn't get any better.
Kahnle bookended Dee Gordon's single with strikeouts of Hanley Ramirez and Yasiel Puig to end the bases-loaded threat and keep the Rockies lead at 5-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth.
