ST. LOUIS -- On Monday, the Cardinals will debut their third #NestFlix Instagram video series, which will take fans on a ride through Cards history along with team mascot Fredbird.
The #BirdToTheFuture series will post five daily 15-second episodes on the club's Instagram account (@Cardinals) at 5 p.m. CT through Sept. 25. The episodes will feature several current players, along with John Rooney, Bill DeWitt, Red Schoendienst and Ozzie Smith.
The Cardinals created this series, which will parody time travel through the organization's history and highlight items from the team's new Hall of Fame and Museum, on the heels of two other successful Instagram series, #TheFrontOffice and #WhatTheCardsHave. Doc Crotzer, who works as an editor in Hollywood, served as director for the script, which was written by vice president of communications Ron Watermon. The Cards also had help on the project from St. Louis native Bob Gale, creator of "Back to the Future."
"Our goal with #BirdToTheFuture is to have some fun while creatively promoting our wonderful new museum in Ballpark Village," Watermon said. "#NestFlix is our experimental brand entertainment initiative to try to engage with our fans in innovative ways that take full advantage of the digital technology and social mediums that are transforming how we all connect with each other."
