Curse-Breaking Alligator Visits Baseball Field

Watch out.

Baseball teams will follow any suspicion if they think it will help them win, which is what led to a five-foot alligator appearing on field before game two of the High Class-A California League championship series. The Visalia Rawhide (a Diamondbacks affiliate) brought the animal to the field to try and break a curse that has kept them from winning the Cal League since 1978.

The alligator was symbolic because of a player on the 1978 team that had a pet gator. We'll take Matt Stairs' pets instead, please.
