Padres to begin, end 2015 season vs. Dodgers

SAN DIEGO -- The Padres will open the 2015 season on the road against the Dodgers before returning to Petco Park for seven games, including the home opener against the Giants on April 9.

The Padres will play four games against the Giants, their National League West rivals, that first weekend, followed by three more against the D-backs.

The team will also play host to the Astros (April 27-29), A's (June 15-16), Mariners (June 30-July 1) and Rangers (Aug. 31-Sept. 2) as part of Interleague Play next season. This will be the Astros' first trip to Petco Park as an American League team.

The schedule also includes a home-and-home series with the Mariners, the Padres' natural rivals.

The A's haven't made a trip to Petco Park since 2009 and the Rangers will be making their second trip to the Padres' downtown ballpark and second since 2012.

The Padres will take Interleague road trips to face the Mariners (May 12-13), Angels (May 25-27), A's (June 17-18) and Rangers (July 10-12).

Aside from NL West foes, the home schedule also includes weekend dates against the Nationals, Pirates, Marlins, Phillies and Cardinals.

The Padres will play 25 of their final 28 games against NL West teams, and September will include a nine-game homestand (Sept. 22-Oct. 1) against the Giants, D-backs and Brewers.

The team will finish the regular season on the road at Dodger Stadium with a three-game series (Oct. 2-4), the first time the Padres have finished the season on the road against the Dodgers since 2002.
