Royals to face NL Central on 2015 schedule

DETROIT -- The Royals will launch the 2015 season against the White Sox at Kauffman Stadium on April 6, their first season opener at home in four years.

Kansas City will complete the three-game series vs. Chicago on April 8-9 after a day off. The last time the Royals opened at home was 2011 against the Angels.

Next year's schedule features a return to six games against the in-state Cardinals, rather than the four of the last two years. St. Louis will come to Kansas City on May 22-24 and the Royals will visit Busch Stadium on June 12-14.

Interleague games next year will be against the National League Central. The Reds, Brewers and Pirates will visit Kauffman Stadium. The Royals will call at Milwaukee, Cincinnati and Chicago -- their first visit to historic Wrigley Field since 2001.

There will be 20 Interleague games in all.

The Yankees will make their annual visit to KC from May 15-17. The Royals call at Yankee Stadium on May 25-27, followed after an off-day by their May 29-31 series at Wrigley.

The season will end Oct. 2-4 at Minnesota.
