Padres win replay challenge in eighth vs. Rockies

DENVER -- Not a whole lot went right for the Padres on Sunday at Coors Field, though they did manage to get a call overturned in the eighth inning of their 6-0 loss to the Rockies.

With no outs and DJ LeMahieu at first base, Jackson Williams hit a ball to first baseman Jake Goebbert, who stepped on first base and then threw to second base with hopes of getting LeMahieu .

But LeMahieu stopped between first and second base and retreated to first base as the return throw to first base appeared to arrive late with Goebbert applying the tag. First-base umpire Dan Iassogna ruled LeMahieu safe.

San Diego's Bud Black used his manager's challenge, and the call was overturned after a replay review, with the play being scored a double play, 3-6-3.
