A Padres affiliate since 2007, the Missions have posted a 586-532 (.524) regular season record over the past eight seasons. The partnership has been highlighted by three Texas League Championships in 2007, 2011 and 2013. The 2007 Missions were named the Minor League Team of the Year by Baseball America, while the 2011 club was named Minor League Team of the Year and Double-A Team of the Year by MiLB.com. The 2013 squad went 78-61 (.561) en route to the 13th Texas League championship in franchise history. 2013 was the first year at the helm for current Manager Rich Dauer. In 2014, the Missions recently finished the regular season with a 68-72 (.486) record.
"We are thrilled to continue this partnership with what has been an important franchise in the Texas League," said Vice President, Player Development Randy Smith. "The great relationship the Padres have had with the Missions is thanks in large part to working with the Elmore family and Burl Yarbrough. We look forward to continuing success for the Missions and working together to develop quality Major League players."
