MLB Network showcase Labor Day matchup from Sept. 1-14

With less than five weeks left in the regular season, MLB Network will feature a Labor Day prime time showdown and key matchups with Postseason implications in its live game schedule from September 1 - 14. Highlights include:

- Bob Costas, Jim Kaat and Tom Verducci will call two MLB Network Showcase games on the West Coast over the next week, beginning with the first matchup of a pivotal four-game AL West series between the first-place Angels and second-place Athletics tomorrow, August 28 at 10:00 p.m. ET, live from Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The action continues when MLB Network Showcase visits Dodger Stadium for the first time this season as the East-leading Washington Nationals, who have won 12 of their last 15 games, take on the West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, at 8:00 p.m. ET.   

- Jonathan Lucroy and the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers look to increase their division lead when they host the second-place St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, September 6 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Cardinals currently trail the Brewers by one and a half games.

- Monday, September 8 features a tripleheader beginning with Albert Pujols and the Angels taking on the Cleveland Indians at 1:00 p.m. ET, followed by an AL Central battle featuring the first-place Kansas City Royals, who are looking to return to the Postseason for the first time since 1985, visiting the second-place Detroit Tigers at 4:00 p.m. ET. The Cincinnati Reds will host the Cardinals in the finale of the tripleheader at 7:00 p.m. ET.

- Four afternoon games will be featured during the first two weeks of September, including the AL East first-place Baltimore Orioles, who are looking to win their first division title since 1997, hosting the New York Yankees on Friday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

As the 2014 Postseason approaches, MLB Network's Emmy Award-winning flagship program MLB Tonight will continue to bring viewers its signature live look-ins at games in progress, news and analysis seven days a week. MLB Network's game schedule through September 14, which continues the lead up to MLB Network's exclusive telecasts of two Division Series games this Postseason, is available here. Games will be blacked out in each team's home television territory unless otherwise announced. Viewers in areas subject to blackouts will be provided with an alternate game telecast or other programming.
