Blue Jays fans raise $45,000 for Jays Care Foundation

Throughout the season, Toronto Blue Jays fans are encouraged to show their support for Jays Care Foundation by hosting their own fan fundraising event! Planning a car wash, bake sale, dinner party or slow-pitch tournament are all great ways to raise funds in support of ongoing programming for children and youth through our nationwide Rookie League program and Field of Dreams capital projects that create safe, dedicated youth space, as well as Grand Slam Grants, and Jays Care Community Clubhouse.

So far this season, amazing Toronto Blue Jays fans have raised over $45,000 in support of Jays Care Foundation through fan fundraisers -- with many more still to go!  

Read below to learn about some of the highlights of our fan fundraiser season to date and for information on how to hold a fan fundraiser of your own.

Juice Plus Canada Corporate BBQ

On July 9, Juice Plus Canada hosted their annual corporate barbecue in support of Jays Care. Staff at their corporate office were treated to a lunch & raffle in exchange for a donation to Jays Care. In addition, a corporate donation was made to host two different charitable groups in the Jays Care Community Clubhouse. Juice Plus Canada cranked up the heat and raised $9,243 in support of Jays Care.

5th Annual Best Buy Softball Tournament

On Aug. 19, Best Buy Canada held their 5th annual softball tournament, with proceeds donated to Jays Care Foundation. 18 different Best Buy locations competed in a round-robin tournament, which was umpired by our very own Jays Care community crew volunteers. A full day of baseball and fun-in-the-sun raised $7,475 in support of Jays Care Foundation.

Hopeaholics 1st Annual Golf Tournament

On July 14 at Eagle Ridge Golf Course, Hopeaholics¸ an support-based organization for victims of childhood abuse led by Marie McDermott, held their first annual golf tournament in support of Jays Care Foundation. A day of hope and hitting the links raised $5,600 in support of Jays Care Foundation.

The Office Pub Jays Crawl

On April 9th, Jays fans young and old gathered at The Office Pub in downtown Toronto, where they were treated to food, beverages and the chance to win great prizes in numerous raffle draws. The group then made their way to Rogers Centre to watch the Blue Jays take on the Houston Astros, and, following the conclusion of the game, back to the Office Pub to finish their evening. This fantastic crawl raised $2,000 in support of Jays Care.

Hydro One Employee "Blue Jays Crystal (Base)ball Prediction Contest

Throughout the month of August, 85 Hydro One employees from across Ontario submitted their predicted answers to Blue Jays themed multiple choice questions. The top three most accurate prognosticators won amazing prizes and the contest helped raise $1,700 in support of Jays Care Foundation.
