Worth noting

• Yadier Molina went through an extensive workout at the organization's Double-A facility in Springfield, Mo., on Tuesday and is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment there on Wednesday barring any setbacks.

Manager Mike Matheny suggested that Molina will catch (not serve as the designated hitter) immediately upon starting game play. Molina has been on the disabled list since July 10 with a right thumb injury.

• Triple-A Memphis took a one-game lead in its Pacific Coast League division race with a 1-0 win over Fresno on Monday. Zach Petrick, making the start after scheduled starter Tyler Lyons was recalled to St. Louis, threw five innings and struck out seven. He allowed one hit. Kevin Siegrist and Eric Fornataro each pitched two scoreless innings behind Petrick.

• Tilson was named to the Florida State League's postseason All-Star team on Tuesday as a recognition for his standout season with Palm Beach. Tilson, a second-round selection in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft, hit .308/.357/.414 with 21 extra-base hits, 36 RBIs and 54 runs scored in 89 games for Palm Beach before being promoted to Double-A in mid-July.

• The Gulf Coast League Cardinals clinched the East Division title on Tuesday with walk-off victory over the Mets' Rookie-league affiliate. Magneuris Sierra followed a two-out triple with the game-winning single to lift the GCL Cardinals to a 2-1 win.
