• With speculation growing about the Tigers needing a team meeting, manager Brad Ausmus indicated they've had more than a few already, and might have had one fairly recently.

"It's happened a handful of times over the course of the season," he said. "It's happened recently, but I'll leave it at that."

• The Tigers had a pair of Sunday home games moved to national television. This Sunday's game against the Mariners remains a 1:08 p.m. ET start, but will be broadcast nationally on TBS. Their Sept. 7 Interleague matchup with the Giants, meanwhile, has been moved to ESPN's Sunday night slot, beginning at 8 p.m. The latter had been long expected, since ESPN will already have a camera crew in town for a Monday Night Football game between the Lions and New York Giants across the street at Ford Field.
