Martinez went in to run for Geovany Soto in the 14th inning after he reached on a one-out error by third baseman Evan Longoria. He went to second on a single by Rougned Odor and to third on a single by Shin-Soo Choo. He scored when Adam Rosales drew a four-pitch walk.
Martinez was an infielder at Fordham and was also used as a pinch-runner against the Nationals on June 1. He is the first Rangers pitcher to score a run as a pinch-runner since Bobby Witt on June 30, 1990 in Boston.
