Worth noting

• Jennings, on the seven-day concussion disabled list, is making progress. The lefty, who was struck on the side of the head by a line drive on Aug. 7 at Pittsburgh, is symptom-free. He played some catch, but there is no specific timetable for when he will be ready to return.

• Derek Dietrich, on the disabled list since July 4 with a left wrist strain, is in Jupiter swinging the bat. September would be the earliest he could return.

• General manager Dan Jennings participated in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge on Wednesday, getting doused by Jeff Conine while the Marlins took batting practice. The challenge is to raise awareness toward combating ALS.
