BALTIMORE -- Commissioner Bud Selig, speaking at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Tuesday afternoon, declined to speculate on the possible outcome of the vote scheduled for Thursday that could name his successor.
The quarterly Owners Meetings begin today, including a general session in which three finalists -- Major League Baseball COO Rob Manfred, Red Sox chairman Tom Werner and MLB executive vice president of business Tim Brosnan -- will make presentations outlining their visions for the game's future. The vote will be conducted Thursday, with a candidate needing at least 23 out of 30 votes to be named the 10th Commissioner in the game's history. Selig plans to move on from the role on Jan. 25.
