LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Through four days at the Area Code Games, perhaps no one has stood out more than Demi Orimoloye.
The Canadian outfielder went 2-for-2 with a mammoth home run and four RBIs on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he pounded out four hits. And on Thursday, Orimoloye showed off his athleticism, swiping a pair of bases -- including home on a designed double steal.
Orimoloye, who attends St. Matthew High School in Ontario, also attended the showcase last season, and scouts have been very impressed with his progress over the past year.
Orimoloye certainly has the build of a versatile ballplayer, at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds with speed. His teammate and countryman, Joshua Naylor, has also looked sharp.
