Werth started the month by collecting nine hits with a pair of homers and nine RBI from July 1st -6th en route to earning his third career N.L. Player of the Week citation, and his first since joining the Nationals as a free agent prior to the 2011 season. On July 12th against the Philadelphia Phillies, he helped the Nationals to a 5-3 extra-inning victory over his former team, clubbing a two-run homer in the sixth inning. In the three-game series at Citizens Bank Park (July 11th-13th), Werth went a combined 3-for-10 with a pair of homers, five runs scored and seven RBI as the Nats took two of three contests. On July 20th, his clutch performance lifted the Nats over the Milwaukee Brewers in the rubber-match of a three-game set with the N.L. Central's top club. Werth sealed the victory with a two-out double to left field, which scored Anthony Rendon from first base for the decisive run in the Nationals' third walk-off victory this season. The 35-year-old currently leads the Nationals and ranks third in the League with 13 game-winning RBI this season. This is his second career Player of the Month Award. Werth was also voted N.L.
