• Steve Stone (play-by-play) and Tom Paciorek (analyst) will team together again for the White Sox television broadcasts for this series in Detroit. Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, who missed the last series at Minnesota, will miss this three-game set for personal reasons.
• Triple-A Charlotte first baseman Andy Wilkins has been named the International League Batter of the Week for the second straight week. Wilkins is hitting .483 (42-for-87) with eight doubles, 12 homers, 30 RBIs and 24 runs scored in his last 21 games. Wilkins has hit safely in 19 of the contests (four multi-homer and nine multi-RBI games).
Wilkins sits atop the International League in home runs (26), RBIs (70), extra-base hits (53), total bases (217) and home run ratio (14.69) and ranks second in slugging percentage (.568).
• Pitching coach Don Cooper, who has not been on the road trip with the White Sox because of vertigo, is expected back Friday when the White Sox return home.
