Worth noting

• Injured outfielder Angel Pagan continues to progress in his rehab from back problems and will take a full pregame routine in Arizona on Tuesday. Based on how that goes, Bochy said the club anticipates knowing a start date and location for his Minor League rehab assignment.

• Bochy said concussed catcher Hector Sanchez is "three or four days" behind Belt in his recovery, so his return won't happen until at least the Milwaukee series from Aug. 5-7. Given Sanchez's position and the high volume of foul tips he's been pelted with this season, Bochy said the club will take extra precaution with him, which will extend his stay on the shelf by a couple of days.

• Bochy said catcher Andrew Susac will start one of the final two games against the Pirates, with the start -- which will be Susac's first in the Majors -- likely to come in Wednesday's afternoon tilt.
