• The Red Sox began a weeklong effort of community engagement Monday. Shane Mora, a 14-year-old Hodgkin's lymphoma patient from Luna, N.M., visited Fenway and met third baseman Xander Bogaerts, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, assistant hitting coach Victor Rodriguez will host a children's hitting clinic at 11:30 a.m. ET at Fenway. Mike Napoli and Shane Victorino will host children from different organizations throughout the week, and several more Make-A-Wish dreams will come true as well.
The Clay Buchholz Foundation will host a bowling event at Lucky Strike Lanes, right next to Fenway, on Thursday from 6-10 p.m.
The weeklong effort ends Aug. 4, with the inaugural Red Sox Foundation Golf Tournament at Belmont Country Club from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Red Sox alumni and other former Boston athletes will be there to help benefit the Franciscan Hospital for Children.
