Andrew Cashner, who threw his first bullpen session Sunday, will likely do so again on Tuesday when the Padres return to Petco Park. Cashner threw 31 pitches on Sunday as he continues to work his way because from right shoulder soreness.

"We'll continue to push him forward," Black said.

• Starting pitcher Ian Kennedy, who was scratched Monday due to mild soreness in his left oblique, will throw a side session on Wednesday and likely start Saturday against the Braves at Petco Park.
