ANAHEIM -- Left fielder Josh Hamilton exited with left knee soreness in the fourth inning Friday night of the Angels' 2-1 victory over the Tigers.
Manager Mike Scioscia said the injury was day to day and that the Angels would re-evaluate Hamilton on Saturday.
Hamilton has started three of the past seven games as the designated hitter, in part due to tightness in his legs. Scioscia said Friday's injury was "probably connected" to the previous ailment.
Efren Navarro replaced Hamilton and went 2-for-3, including the go-ahead single in the sixth inning. In his lone plate appearance, Hamilton grounded out weakly to the pitcher in the second.
Hamilton has only five home runs this season (and none since July 2) but is slashing .291/.366/.427 in 54 games.
