TORONTO -- The Rangers successfully challenged a bang-bang play at second base in the third inning of Saturday's contest against the Blue Jays.

With Jose Reyes on first after reaching on an infield single to lead off the bottom half of the frame, Texas shortstop Elvis Andrus fielded a grounder off the bat of Munenori Kawasaki and scurried over to second for the forceout. Andrus touched the bag just before Reyes slid in, and fell over him as he threw to first base to nail Kawasaki.

Second-base umpire Chris Conroy, however, ruled Reyes safe on the play. Andrus immediately signaled to the dugout that he beat Reyes to the bag, which prompted manager Ron Washington to come out and challenge the play.

After a one-minute and one-second review, the call was overturned.

Texas starter Colby Lewis allowed a two-out double to the following batter, Melky Cabrera, before intentionally walking Jose Bautista to put two on for Dioner Navarro, who grounded out to end the inning.
