Worth noting

• Staying true to a season-long pattern, third baseman Kyle Seager entered Thursday batting .500 (25-for-50) with three home runs and 16 RBIs in his past 13 home games. In 2014, Seager's home/road splits defy logic. At pitcher-friendly Safeco Field, he had a .348/.416/.626 slash line. On the road, he was batting .207/.281/.339. He homered in his first at-bat Thursday against the Twins.

• Optioned to Tacoma earlier this month, first baseman Justin Smoak hit two home runs Wednesday night in the Rainiers' 10-4 loss to Salt Lake. In 18 games with Tacoma, Smoak has a .271 batting average, three homers, and 10 RBIs.
