All-Star Game umpires have Arizona Fall League ties

Four umpires with ties to the Arizona Fall League will be on baseball's biggest stage.

Scott Barry, Vic Carapazza, Jeff Nelson and Todd Tichenor have all been named to the six-man crew for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, and all four have a connection to the AFL.

Barry, who will work third base in the All-Star Game, called games in the 2005 and '06 editions of the Arizona Fall League. Carapazza, who will man right field at the All-Star Game, was in the AFL in 2006.

Tichenor will get the left-field assignment in the All-Star Game, and he worked at the Arizona Fall League level in 2005. Nelson, the first-base umpire, worked the AFL all the way back in 1996.
