Worth noting

• The Mets' leadoff role has hardly been a constant this season, but Collins said he's hoping to continue to slot Curtis Granderson into that hole.

"He's put good swings on lefties as well as righties," Collins said. "It's working and I'm just going to leave it alone. … Just the fact that he's getting on base at the rate he is, I think that's where we need to leave him and hopefully have the fourth or fifth hitters come through."

Granderson, a .234/.350/.421 hitter overall entering Tuesday, was batting .265/.383/.571 in 13 games batting first. Granderson, who homered in Monday night's 4-3, 11-inning win, hit his 14th home run of the season off Braves All-Star righty Julio Teheran to open the bottom of the first Tuesday.

• The Mets' win Monday was their 3,999th as a franchise.

Daniel Murphy is an All-Star, and now fans get to reap the benefits. The Mets announced Tuesday a "2 for $28" ticket-sales promotion in honor of their second baseman. Fans can visit mets.com/murphy to buy two Field Level tickets for $28, Murphy's uniform number, for any game through Sunday's against the Marlins.
