Idina Menzel to sing National Anthem prior to the MLB All-Star Game

Tony Award-winner Idina Menzel will sing the U.S. National Anthem and conduct a special on-field performance as part of the pre-game ceremony honoring the 30 winners in the "Target presents PEOPLE All-Star Teachers" program prior to the 2014 MLB All-Star Game, which airs on July 15th on FOX. The MLB All-Star Musical Performance presented by Budweiser will feature singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc on-field prior to the Gillette Home Run Derby on July 14th on ESPN. 

Prior to the National Anthem, Menzel will perform the classic song "Forever Young" by 11-time Grammy-Award winner Bob Dylan, who is a Minnesota native, as part of the pre-game ceremony that will highlight the 30 "All-Star Teachers" preceding the All-Star Game. The program celebrates remarkable current and retired teachers who make an impact on the lives of their students and communities. Winners will be recognized on-field with the 2014 MLB All-Star players and managers. Also as part of the All-Star Game, the Canadian Anthem will be performed by the Minnesota Orchestra Brass Quintet and God Bless America will be sung by American country music artist Joe Nichols.

Aloe Blacc's special on-field performance on Monday, July 14th will first feature "Wake Me Up" on MLB Network at approximately 7:50 p.m. ET, followed by "Can You Do This," which will air on ESPN prior to the start of the Gillette Home Run Derby. Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays and Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies have been named captains of the American League and National League squads for the Derby. Blacc will also perform at the MLB All-Star Gala.

Also joining the roster of musical performances during MLB All-Star Week is Panic! At the Disco, who will perform on-field prior to the Taco Bell™ All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game at Target Field on July 13th as part of Taco Bell All-Star Sunday. The Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game will be televised by ESPN at approximately 10:30 p.m. Eastern immediately following the Gillette Home Run Derby. Additionally, the ticketed All-Star Pre-Game Celebration taking place outside of Target Field prior to the All-Star Game on Tuesday will feature American rock band O.A.R. and Minnesota's A Capella group, Home Free.  

Grammy Award winning artists Imagine Dragons will headline the 2014 Target All-Star Concert presented by Budweiser with musical guest, Minnesota-based Atmosphere, on Saturday, July 12th, as part of MLB All-Star Week, as previously announced. Tony Award-winning icon Idina Menzel has a diverse career that traverses stage, film, television and music. Menzel's voice can be heard as Elsa in Disney's global box office smash Frozen, in which she sings the film's Oscar-winning song "Let It Go." Aloe Blacc released his major-label debut album Lift Your Spirit March 11th on XIX Recordings/Interscope Records where is debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The set follows up Blacc's collaboration as vocalist and co-writer on well-known DJ/producer Avicii's track "Wake Me Up," a song that hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on its Hot Dance Club Songs and Dance/Electronic Songs charts, as well as topping charts in more than 100 countries. Blacc's single "The Man" topped the charts and with more than 2.2 million singles sold.    Blacc is currently out on a U.S. tour with Bruno Mars in support of Lift Your Spirit and new single "Love Is The Answer."  He will make his acting debut in "Get On Up," the James Brown biopic scheduled to hit theaters on August 1st.
