• Infielder Wilmer Flores won Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors after hitting six homers in five games from July 2-6. Flores also led the PCL with 13 hits, 12 runs scored and 16 RBIs for the week ending July 6, batting .382 and hitting safely in all eight of his games. The Mets demoted Flores to Las Vegas on June 25 because he was not receiving regular playing time in the big leagues.
• The Mets plan to cap right-hander Dillon Gee at around 90-95 pitches Wednesday against the Braves, in his first start back from the disabled list. Gee pitched six innings in his final rehab start Friday for Class A Brooklyn.
• X-rays on reliever Carlos Torres' right hand came back negative after B.J. Upton hit him with a comebacker in the 11th inning of Monday's 4-3 win over the Braves. The Mets diagnosed Torres with a right hand contusion.
